I write novels and short stories, and usually find myself writing about weird and magical things. I’m also fascinated by the joy and pain knotted up inside creative collaborations of all types.

I'm a graduate of the Bennington Writing Seminars, the BookEnds novel incubator, and the Clarion Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Workshop. My short fiction appears in AGNI, Third Coast, the Bellevue Literary Review, and elsewhere. I won the Glimmer Train Fiction Open and the Montana Prize in Fiction (judged by Alexandra Kleeman), and was included in the Masters Review Anthology Vol. 9, selected by Rick Bass.

I’m originally from Germany, and now live in the Netherlands. I also lived in Pittsburgh for a couple of years, and remember it very fondly.
